"The Politicians are Eric Jones and Laura and Nat Barr, all experienced musicians that have rocked the youth music scene in such diverse groups as Wearing Trousers, Ruin and Hot Little Secretary. On the drums, Eric Jones is as much metronome as manic sledgehammer – his rock-solid beats are imbued with a smoldering passion for noise that drives the band’s wispy tortured folk-rock and reckless grunge “up to eleven.” Meanwhile, Laura is laying down layered, funky grooves on her blood-red bass guitar, sinking deep into the music, and letting loose the occasional earth-shaking overdriven slap-bass rumble. Struggling to stay on top of all this is Nat, growling, howling and singing with all his might in a commanding yet vulnerable voice while strangling thick riffs, broken arpeggios and psychedelic yelps out of his electric guitar.
